Candle maintenance is a commonly overlooked part of ownership. It can take as little as 15 seconds before each burn and will help you get the most out of each candle!
Here are a few tips:- Keep your wick trimmed: Trimming your wick below 1/4 of an inch before each burn allows wax and oils to be drawn all the way up the wick, ensuring a clean and smooth burn.
- Burn in 4 hour stints: Burning for more than 4 hours may cause carbon to collect on the top of your wick creating a "mushrooming" look. This causes the candle to burn inefficiently producing a soot. To remedy this, simply trim your wick and burn no longer than 4 hours at a time.
- Heat Safety: Burning candles all the way to the bottom will cause the glass to heat up. This may put your furniture at risk leaving marks from the heat.
- Store in dark cool place: Storing your candle in a cool, dark area prevents the candle from discoloring due to UV rays and the wax from melting under the heat.
